There has never been a better time for UK companies to leverage the power of digital to plan, launch, and grow in the U.S. Here are 5 good reasons to make the leap:

1. Competitive exchange rates. The dominant dollar and cheaper pound means that UK business has suddenly become a more appealing trade partner. This means increased chances to sell more in the U.S. compared to a flat-lining EU.

The EU attitude to online regulation around brands such as Google is in direct contrast with the more open and flexible trading terms that are very much a part of U.S. e-Commerce. Gary Shapiro, CEO of the highly influential Consumer Trade Association, is already signalling an open door for UK digital exports. Senior Republican leader Paul Ryan and Democratic Presidential candidate Hillary Clinton are making it clear that they want to ‘do a trade deal’ with the UK as soon as possible.

5. The U.S. digital market has never been more fertile. eCommerce accounted for 66.4% of total retail sales growth in 2015 and by 2017 U.S. online and mobile sales are predicted to reach a staggering $1.8bn.
